Saturday Interest Classes

To enhance the children’s speech ability, communication skills and interest in arts and music, the Centre organized a variety of interest classes on Saturday. The children could also experience a sense of accomplishment and self-affirmation through constant praise and encouragement.

Benji’s Choir

Established in 2014, Benji’s Choir features professional conductors teaching vocal techniques and basic music theory, with speech therapists present during classes to guide children on the correct pronunciation of lyrics. This unique approach aims to cultivate an interest in singing, allowing children to practice language skills through vocalisation while realizing their musical potential. In the 2024-25 year, the Choir has grown to 94 members. The conductor divides the children into five groups based on their abilities for regular training every Saturday.

Since its inception, members have shown significant progress in various aspects. To further enhance the Choir’s musical standards, the Centre invited Ms. Rebekah AuYeung, an international-calibre musician from New York, to serve as a volunteer vocal coach. She provides training in standard vocalisation, classical music, singing techniques, and harmony, striving to elevate the Choir to a higher level of excellence. Following Teacher Rebekah’s departure from Hong Kong, Mrs. Wong, along with two music tutors, took over the instruction of the choir starting in 2024.

To mark the Centre’s 20th Anniversary, the Choir hosted the “We Were Born to Shine” Fundraising Concert on October 5, 2024, at St. Andrew’s Church in Tsim Sha Tsui. The Choir also actively participated in public performances, including the Rotary Club of Admiralty’s 35th Anniversary Dinner on May 9, 2024, the Centre’s annual Walkathon in November 2024, and three Christmas caroling sessions, showcasing the students’ confidence and talent.

Football Class

Since July 2020, the Centre has offered a Children’s Football Class, currently attended by 18 participants. The curriculum is uniquely designed to integrate fundamental skills such as dribbling and passing into fun-filled mini-games, aiming to foster a keen interest in football and outdoor sports in a joyful atmosphere. Through systematic training, students not only improve their footwork and physical agility but also strengthen muscle power, spatial awareness, and teamwork.

As of March 2025, 19 professional training sessions have been conducted this year, successfully helping students build a solid foundation in football and establish healthy exercise habits.
